| Anna Paquin is a New Zealand-Canadian film theater and television actress known for her roles in movies such as The PianoFly Homeaway and X-Men.She entered the film industry when she was a young artist, in The Pianofor which she won the Academy Awardfor the Best Actress in a Supporting Role at 11. The actress had no intention of be an actor, but destiny chose to change her mind. In the aftermath of her breakout performance in her debut film she received numerous offers, but did not accept in order to concentrate on studying. After her debut film was a success, at age 14, she was offered roles in Jane Eyre as well as the Fly Away Homefilm series. In 2000, she portrayed the formidable mutant Roguein X-Menthe X-Menfilmseries. The role she took upon landed her in the limelight. She reprised her role as Roguein X2and X-Men The Last Stand.She was also seen in small screen appearances like Elaine Goodal in the film Bury My Heart in Wounded Kneeforwhich the first time she won an Emmynomination. Soon after was she receiving requests from producers of TV to appear in shows such as True Bloodand Flack. |
