Butler started filming The Stranger Within (a psychological thriller) in Mallorca, Spain, with Estella Ward as well as William Baldwin back in November 2011. Alongside New York City and Copenhagen The film was set to shoot on location in Copenhagen Denmark. She also became part of the crew for Treachery that starred Michael Biehn. The independent feature film was filmed in Los Angeles in early 2012. Butler was in The Demented, a 2013 horror film starring Michael Welch, Kayla Ewell and Michael Welch.

Ferland won an Emmy Award and a Young Artist Award in Mermaid along with a CAMIE Award in Lead Performance for a TV Movie Series or Special in Pictures of Hollis Woods.
